Ykril is an Aasimar orphan raised by the human farmer couple Akim and Kira Rëihlar, who found him in a basket by the road.
Because of his wings and the fact that he was an orphan, he never had many friends, so he was more interested in science and animals. Although he is not a blood relative, he was accepted as a family member by his siblings Sunih and Zalen and treated accordingly. Despite his very close contact with them, he talks little about his feelings toward them and hides his love for Naldela from them for as long as he can.
He subconsciously understood what Nimri wanted when Naldela was imprisoned and followed him to her prison. It was love at first sight for him when he saw Naldela. Despite knowing that the guild he was in would punish him for it, he rescued her and brought her to his stepsister Sunih for recovery.
Since the guild called him back to punish him accordingly, he could not stay with Naldela. As a punishment, his physical wings were cut off with a red-hot dagger. He was brainwashed and dropped off somewhere in the world.
He is unaware of his power and uses only a tiny fraction of his possible abilities as a healer. Likewise, he was responsible for simple tasks in his guild, like broken bones, bruises, and scratches. Over the years, he learned a bit about what he was capable of, but due to his depression, he was significantly inhibited from using it in public, even if he wanted to.
Since he was dropped in a city, he's working in a chemist's shop as a scientist for medical resources without his physical wings and memory. He uses his healing abilities only unconsciously, for example, healing Naldela's wounds, which she suffered from the fight against Tarlyn when he leads her to the soirée.
After Naldela said »I love you« to him for the first time, he ascended to a Protector Aasimar and got new, incorporeal, slightly shimmering wings that he could summon up at any time. It is also possible for him to make his wings touchable to someone else for a short time.
Ykril's first words in Drow were »Ussta ssin'urn qu'essan«, translated to »My beautiful princess« and how he often calls Naldela.

Ykril's abilities are emotional and are not controlled by him. He uses them mostly unconsciously, especially with people he is very close to.
Effect: Heals wounds. The more serious the injury, the more mana it costs him
Disadvantage: Conveys half of the pain to Ykril
Effect: Revives a fallen companion
Condition: Revival must be accomplished within the first 15 minutes
Side Effect: High stamina consumption
Disadvantage: Can only be used once a month, conveys all pain to Ykril, and can only be used if no other skill has been used before on that day.
Effect: Summons a celestial light
Disadvantage: Blinds anyone within 20 m of the summoner

Ykril is very shy initially but blossoms up completely with Naldela at his side, which is very well described by the impressive climb in the song. He and his magical abilities develop a personality that one would never have expected from him.
