This contribution describes the events from Alturiak 10, 1488 DR from the view of Ykril Rëihlar

It seemed to be a quiet day. No guild called out because someone had broken his arm again, and at the farm, Sunih and Zalen seemed to have everything under control. As I was about to make coffee, a small blue lizard sat on our kitchen table and ran excitedly back and forth. I first held out a piece of bread to the little one, but he seemed to have no interest in it. When I held out a finger to him, he directly bit on it and tugged as if he wanted to lead me somewhere. I followed him and was amazed at how fast he was with his tiny legs. It seemed to be very important to him.

He led me into a small prison vault. In front of one of the 3 cells, the little one stopped and looked excitedly inside. When I looked into the cell, I saw a beautiful Drow looking venomously at me with her pitch-black eyes. Judging by her condition, she had been chained up there for a while, and she seemed to be pregnant. I always thought that Drow women, in particular, were treated much better. Especially when they're pregnant.

Before I could free her, I had to take care of the voices talking to each other not far from me. I approached cautiously and looked through the corner. A Tiefling and a Drow. The Drow alone made their imprisonment into an affair of the Underdark. If I would rescue her and the guild found out, I'd be screwed. ›No interference in the affairs of the races of the Underdark‹ was what the training said, and it always sounded more like a commandment. My eyes wandered briefly to the cell. ›But she's so beautiful. And I had sworn that I would protect every life.‹ I thought to myself, and already the thought of her made my heart beat faster. ›What is wrong with me? I have never had a dispute between logic and feelings before.‹ I continued and shook my head slightly. Looking at the little one on my shoulder, whose gaze seemed to express a concern I had never seen on a creature like him before, and when the two gatekeepers began to mock her, I could only feel anger boiling up inside me.
›Fuck the guild‹ was all that went through my head, and I stepped forward to confront them.
»Who are you? And what are you doing in here?« the Drow began grumpily.
But I reacted no further and spread my wings. A friend from training times once showed me how I could blind my opponents with light, and just at the moment when the Tiefling could grab his two-handed sword, I flooded the room with bright light.
From then on, it was easy for me to take them down, and I accidentally kicked a Minion down the hall on my way back to her. I opened the Drow's cell and slowly walked toward her.
»Leave me alone. I have nothing to say to you.« came weakly from her while she tugged on the chains
»Calm down. I just want to help you!« I tried to reassure her, kneeling down in front of her and taking her in my arms so she wouldn't fall to the ground when I freed her from the chains.
›She's way more beautiful from this close.‹ I thought for a moment as I saw her lying on the ground in front of me before I nursed her wounds with minor healing spells.
I put my hand on her belly and tried to feel the movements of her child. But they were very faint, and none of my healing spells seemed to be able to help this little one.
»What am I going to do now?« I whispered nervously to myself.
›Sunih. She always knows what to do.‹ it shot straight through my head.

This little lizard always had me in its sights and pressed its head against the Drow. I wondered what bond both must have that the little one ran all the way to our farm for her. He seemed to have no magic at all. Maybe the Drow keep these little things as pets?

I brought her and her equipment, which I found on a table outside her cell, to our farm, hoping that my sister Sunih could help her.
»But Ykril … She's a damn Drow – and pregnant!« Sunih said very deprecatingly and disgustedly
»By the gods, what has the cat dragged in again?« my brother Zalen added
»Stop it, both of you. She needs help and will get none if not from us« I tried to rebuke them.
»OK. But never save a Drow again!« Sunih gave in, miffed, and after I laid the Drow on the bed in the guest room, gently wiped the blood from her lips, and dried her tears, Zalen arrived with a letter
»An Aasimar courier from the guild has just brought this. They demand that you report to them immediately!«
»Fast as always. That's what you get now, Ykril.« Sunih mocked.
